I’m a UK based designer & writer for crossmedia, multiplatform, and particularly transmedia story experiences.
I write, design and produce independently and for hire. Also delivering consultancy for traditional single media organisations, agencies, artists and producers on how to connect their ideas and work using transmedia.
My approach is to create coordinated story and play spaces.
‘Play Spaces’ doesn’t mean ‘Games’. That can be part of an experience for sure, but I’m interested in combining contextual narratives with virtual and real-world interaction that give freedom, expression, room and valuable experiences to an ever-evolving audience.
Experience
I’ve coordinated workshops for Skillset courses and spoken at conferences all over the world about transmedia methods and my own projects.
With a professional background in many areas: Design, (product, furniture, film set, web, mobile, graphic) product and company branding, Kodak award winning cinematographer, creative project manager, business owner, creative director of a rapid growth puzzle company, content manager for digital signage and projection networks – I bring skills learned in these areas into my own brand of story eexperience design.
Network
I have also built a solid network of creative and technical people who can be called upon to assist with everything from treasure hunt design to mobile application development, street art to theatrical performers.
Clients
Clients I have worked for in the past, directly and as white label though third parties include:
Many, many, wonderful SME’s, Sony, UBS Bank, GMTV, Toonatik, Bolton Wanderers FC, Scania, Manchester Printworks & Guinness World Records.
Qualifications
As well as 12+ years experience in Digital, I also have some paper qualifications: A decent set of GCSE’s, a BTEC in Product Design, a Degree in FIlm and Photography and an EDI Level 3 Certificate in Project Management.
Feel free to drop me a line to explore a project or just to say Hello.
This site focuses on my transmedia related projects and conversations. If you are looking to find out more about it follow the links in the blog posts to some great transmedia articles.
