I did a few tweets about 8 hours apart on the first day to make an effort for it to show up in global timelines. I included the twitter IDs of people who I’d had conversations with in recent weeks on connected topics. No other promotion.
I’m assuming the bounce rate is high because people didn’t go to other pages and not that they actually left instantly!
